Governor Mitt Romney and former Senator Rick Santorum are neck and neck in Iowa. It looks like Ron Paul came in a disappointing 3rd. Paul had hopes of a breakout victory… Newt Gingrich slid in further back with 13% of the vote. Perry with 10% and Bachman with 5%…. Bachman has withdrawn but Perry says he will continue to campaign.
New Hampshire and South Carolina will be the next test for the candidates and it is likely that Santorum will come under new scrutiny now that he is threat in the race..
Real Clear Politics still has Gingrich running second with 22% with Romney garnering 28% of the support on a national level. Santorum is way back with only 9%.
